Webinar: Investigation of Apparent Vaccine Failure - Introduction
The fifth month course of the Progressive Control Practitioners' Network is now online. The topic of of this month is "Investigation of Apparent Vaccine Failure".
There is little argument that vaccination against FMD is one of the key
elements for control of FMD. However, vaccination against FMD should not be
considered as the only approach for progressive FMD control in FMD-endemic
countries. Simply because there too many issues regarding the vaccine quality
and the vaccination strategy that may hamper the effectiveness of vaccinating
against FMD. What these issues are? Well, that is what we like to discuss in
detail in this month of the Progressive Control Practitioner Network.
During our first webinar we will introduce this month topic. In particular we will focus on:
- What is apparent vaccine failure?
- Different categories of apparent vaccine failure
- Suggested approach to investigation of apparent vaccine failure
