Will Probert is a Research Fellow with Dr Michael Tildesley at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science at the University of Nottingham. Will's research focuses on applying frameworks for phrasing, and techniques for solving, optimisation problems associated with the control of FMD outbreaks. Such techniques use both new and existing epidemiological models of FMD spread.

Will has previously held post-doctoral positions with Dr.Matthew Ferrari and Dr.Katriona Shea at the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics at the Pennsylvania State University, and with Dr. Eve McDonald-Madden, Dr Regis Sabbadin and Dr. Nathalie Peyrard, at INRA Toulouse. Will completed his PhD in applied mathematics at the University of Queensland with Dr. Hugh Possingham, Dr.Peter Baxter, and Dr.Anthony Richardson.

The network is open to model developers and users within government, academia and research institutions with an interest in its objectives, from Europe and beyond.
